I have been working full-time as a professional tutor since graduating from the University of Cambridge (King's College) in 2013. I’ve had the pleasure now of working with hundreds of students from all over the world.

Recently I reached 15,000 hours of one-to-one tuition given. My main area of focus is on preparing for the TMUA, helping with UCAS and A Level Maths. I also help students prepare for Further Maths and Physics A Levels, Maths, Physics and Additional/Further Maths GCSEs and IGCSEs and with those studying towards taking STEP 2 and 3 for entrance into Cambridge.

I’ve been fortunate to work with students based in Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain, United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Russia, South Korea, China and Japan. Many of these same students went on to study in the UK at universities such as LSE, Imperial, Cambridge, UCL, St Andrews, Warwick, King’s, Leeds, Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol, Nottingham and Oxford.

London based and independent, I work directly with parents and students both to offer a truly bespoke service. Unlike typical agencies which match students to tutors from large pools, I pride myself in working directly with my clients, typically parents of STEM and Economics students looking to apply to the top universities. This way I can offer holistic advice about the UK education system, help with university selection and applications, personal statements and entrance papers like the TMUA, ESAT, TARA and STEP.

My philosophy centres around getting students to think for themselves, rather than spoon-feeding solutions. We focus on understanding material deeply so that my students are resilient and able to tackle novel problems both in maths and in life more broadly.

The AI boom has seen many new “Ed-Tech” platforms springing up, but much like the YouTube video boom before it, these platforms focus on delivering content rather than having students think and work through problems themselves. I encourage use of a wide range of resources from textbooks to videos to AI agents and platforms, but I underpin that with the philosophy of using them as resources. It is still us humans that have to think and to solve problems as in maths and as in life.
